:: Thursday, January 08, 2004 :: Here is a good description of the downside of Wal-mart's cost structure on U.S. consumers. As U.S. manufacturing jobs go overseas, the folks who shop at Wal-mart for low prices and convenience are undermining their own jobs. It's not just manufacturers, but their suppliers who are also affected. It looks like every time you shop at Wal-mart, another U.S. job goes overseas - it just might be your job.
